Why the bolster changes the size you need
On a bed like this the raised rim is part of the outer measurement, not extra space. A dog that likes to press against an edge will use the inner area, so always size by the inner figure rather than the outer one.
Curled or stretched out?
If your dog sleeps sprawled flat rather than curled against an edge, our flat cushion beds give more usable surface for the same footprint.

Most dog beds are filled with loose foam offcuts or a sheet of soft sponge. Both compress fast under a heavy dog. Ours is a single 3D Massage Egg-Shaped Core block that returns to shape, night after night.
A raised rim the whole way round
The oval shape has a padded bolster on every side, so wherever your dog turns there is something to lean into or rest a chin on. It suits dogs who curl up against an edge rather than sprawl flat in the open.

Most dog beds say washable and mean wipe it with a cloth. This one unzips completely - the cover goes in the machine at 30 degrees and comes out clean.

Questions owners ask
Can I really put the whole cover in the machine?
Yes. The cover unzips completely and washes at 30 degrees. Only the waterproof liner underneath stays out of the machine - wipe that clean instead.
How is this different from your other bolster bed?
This one is oval, with the rim running the whole way round, and the cover is fully machine washable. Our rectangular bolster bed has raised sides on three edges with one open end.
How do I know which size to order?
Measure your dog curled up, then compare that to the inner sleeping area in our size guide - not the outer dimensions. The bolster takes up a fair amount of the outer measurement.
Does the waterproof liner make it noisy?
The liner sits under the cover rather than on top, so your dog rests on fabric, not plastic.
Will the bolster go flat?
The rim is filled to hold its shape under a resting head. Give it a shake now and then to redistribute the filling.
What if my dog will not use it?
Most settle within one to three days. Put their old blanket in it for the first couple of nights. If they still will not use it, return it within 30 days for a full refund.
